Tuna Pasta
This meal uses canned tuna and other pantry-stable ingredients!

The core ingredients for this meal can be kept in the pantry long term, making it an incredibly convenient option for busy individuals or families. Staples such as dried pasta, canned tuna, and various spices can be stored for extended periods without spoiling, ensuring that you always have the foundational elements on hand to create a delicious dish.

This means that even on those days when you are short on time or haven't had the opportunity to do a big grocery shop, you can still whip up a satisfying meal with minimal effort. With just a few fresh ingredients being used, such as lemons and parsley, it can easily be thrown together without a big food shop! The combination of shelf-stable pantry items and fresh produce allows for a balance of convenience and flavor, ensuring that you can enjoy a wholesome meal any day of the week, regardless of your shopping schedule.

Anchovy Fillets
Anchovy fillets add salt and oil flavours to the meal without additional seasoning!

Anchovies are high in essential nutrients and beneficial compounds that contribute to a healthy diet. These small, saltwater fish are particularly rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and their role in promoting heart health. Omega-3s are crucial for maintaining optimal brain function and may even help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular issues.

In addition to omega-3 fatty acids, anchovies are also an excellent source of protein, providing the body with the necessary building blocks for muscle repair and growth. Furthermore, anchovies contain a variety of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, which is important for vision and immune function, and calcium, which is essential for strong bones and teeth. They also provide significant amounts of iron, which is vital for the production of red blood cells and the transportation of oxygen throughout the body. The presence of selenium in anchovies acts as a powerful antioxidant, helping to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.

Incorporating anchovies into meals can not only boost the nutritional profile of a dish but also add depth and complexity to the overall flavor.

One thing to note with packaged sardine fillets is that they're generally high in sodium. So, if that's something that you need to restrict, it's something to consider. We don't add any salt to this meal.

Canned Tuna
Combine a couple of different sizes of tuna tins to meet the 601 g

To meet the weight for tuna in this recipe, you'll likely need to combine some different sizes of containers- just make sure that they're in olive oil! We're going to cook in the retained oil from the tins!
